Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Wigan is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Controller to support inventory and production operations. You will manage stores, issue tooling, and load work packages to meet production schedules. Ideal candidates have experience in manufacturing stores or inventory control, excellent manual handling skills, and a flexible approach to shifts. A forklift licence and familiarity with ERP systems are desirable.

  • Stock control and shelf-life management.

Overview

Job Title: Manufacturing Controller

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Controller to support inventory and production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves managing stores, issuing tooling, kitting, and loading work packages to meet production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock control and shelf-life management
  • Kitting and packing (including use of hand tools)
  • Loading/unloading of goods and manufacturing cells
  • Tooling issue and receipt
  • Updating inventory records and systems
  • Supporting delivery schedules and manufacturing programmes
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing stores or inventory control role
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns
  • Manual handling, lifting & slinging (including overhead cranes)
  • ESD awareness
Desirable
  • PC skills including Excel
  • Forklift licence
  • Familiarity with Kanban/2-bin systems
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
