Job description

We're looking for a General / Manufacturing Assistant to join Paragon's Nottingham site.

As a Manufacturing assistant, you will assist where directed to help ensure the smooth running of the sites operations, in particular the Direct Mail department for mail-sorting and hand fulfilment purposes.

Hours are 3 shifts rotation weekly: 37.5 hours per week plus 36 hours on nights.

Monday to Friday.

Week 1 - 6am - 13.30pm

Week 2 - 13.30pm - 9pm

Week 3 - 9pm - 6am (Nights only Mon-Thurs)

£16.35 per hour, shift increase on night shift.

Main Responsibilities
  • To assist machine operators as directed and ensure all procedures are adhered to.
  • To help maintain optimum running speeds
  • Ensure that all quality procedures are adhered to and all relevant paperwork is completed.
  • To communicate all relevant job information to subsequent shifts
  • Recognise potential problems quickly and the relevant department manager immediately.
  • General Housekeeping within the department
  • To provide a high standard of cleanliness within departments as directed
  • To complete duties as directed by the department manager within the area you are rostered to.
  • Ensure PPE is worn as and when required
  • To adhere to all Health & Safety procedures
  • To undertake training as and when required.
  • Undertake to comply with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and its associated policies
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Direct mail experience and mailsorting experience desired
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements in print production.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently.
  • Flexible and results-focused with a commitment to continuous improvement.
