Overview

Position: Managing Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Up to £75,000 + Company Car or £6,700 Allowance + Fuel Card

Randstad are recruiting a Managing QS for a leading house builder for their commercial team in the North West. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the company's business plan and commercial objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial function, ensuring compliance, control, and performance management of quantity surveying.
  • Achieve targets for development budgets and commercial controls.
  • Support the acquisition of land and the commencement of new sites.
  • Oversee subcontractor tendering, management, and payments.
  • Handle CVRs, cost-to-complete reviews, and variation controls.
  • Take full responsibility for the quantity surveying function on at least one key development.
Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a relevant qualification or has extensive experience in Commercial Management.
  • Proficient in COINS, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of the commercial implications of design and build methods.
  • Has broad financial and commercial awareness, along with technical knowledge.
  • Knowledgeable about the construction industry, building regulations, NHBC requirements, and HSE.
  • Strong analytical, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication, engagement, and stakeholder management skills.
