We have an excellent opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join one of the largest privately owned main contractors in the UK. The business operates out of several regional offices across the UK, with their Southern region being based in Reading. They undertake notable schemes across sectors including education, commercial, mixed-use residential, student accommodation and life sciences. With a busy forward order book and an exciting scheme in the pipeline, they're looking to expand the commercial team with an additional Managing Quantity Surveyor.

About the role of Managing Quantity Surveyor:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing an upcoming scheme from pre-construction through to completion. Projects vary in value but may be up to £100mil. You will be managing the commercial aspect of the scheme alongside other more junior Surveyors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the pre-construction team through 2-stage tenders
• Oversee the project's procurement and management of sub-contractor packages
• Handle final accounts and any dispute resolution that may arise
• Mentor junior members of the Surveying team and be involved in their professional development

Key Requirements:

• Hold a BSc in Quantity Surveying or HNC
• Experience managing projects of sizable value from pre-construction through to final account
• Proficient in administering various forms of contract including JCT and NEC
• Full right to work in the UK and willingness to commute to Reading and surrounding sites
