Job description
Job Purpose

You will lead IT governance and operations to ensure that IT procedures and systems meet the AHG’s needs. You are expected to proactively engage the departments to understand their work and champion digital transformation by recommending and implementing IT solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Given the small IT team, you are expected to be technically hands‑on, directly supporting and covering IT Executive-level tasks as needed, ensuring operational continuity and high service standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
  • Provide expert oversight and hands‑on management of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Lead the design, implementation, integration, and continuous improvement of IT solutions to support AHG’s objectives
  • Lead by example in technical problem‑solving and project execution, setting high standards for the IT team.
  • Oversee the development, design, implementation and integration of any existing and new IT systems and applications, with focus on cloud‑based technologies and services
  • Ensure IT infrastructure and systems remain relevant and recommend adoption of new technologies when appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and manage IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and achievement of key performance indicators.
IT Policies and Cyber Security
  • Develop, review, and enforce IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations, including the Personal Data Protection Act
  • Compliance management and monitoring to safeguard the organization against emerging IT risks and ensure AHG readiness for external regulators and audits.
  • Perform periodic analysis of existing IT governance and cybersecurity policies and regulatory issues and continually provide recommendations.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and practices across the organisation.
  • Ensure all IT systems and websites conform to relevant compliance checklists and regulatory requirements.
Technology Champion/Advocate
  • Actively engage with departments to understand their business processes and pain points so as to identify opportunities where technology can add value, streamline operations, or solve challenges.
  • Recommend IT software, systems, and process improvements based department’s needs.
  • Serve as a technology champion, driving and collaborating with department heads to co‑create IT solutions that are practical, user‑friendly, and aligned with business objectives.
Education
  • Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology, or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in IT management, preferably in an in‑house environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing IT infrastructure, systems administration, and application support.
  • Proven track record in managing IT projects, vendors, and budgets.
  • Experience in business partnering; i.e. working closely with various departments to understand their needs, provide technology recommendations, and co‑create solutions that support organizational objectives.
  • Experience in the public sector is an advantage.
