We are looking for an ACCA/ACA qualified Manager of client accounting to join our offices in London. In this position you will play a key role in the growth of our Corporate Services business.

The Position

As a manager of client accounting within the Corporate Services side of the Client Accounting team, your role will be to assist and manage a team of accountants, ensuring they are well trained and motivated to deliver excellent client service. You will ensure all tasks are appropriately allocated across the team to meet deadlines and open development opportunity doors for other team members.

You will act as the main point of escalation for one of our largest clients who operate in the hotel industry. You will need a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to lead by example. You must be highly organised, pay close attention to detail and be keen to cope with multiple tasks, prioritise, and provide excellent customer service, which CSC CLS (UK) Limited and the wider Group is well known for.

You will have extensive knowledge in the production of monthly management accounts for a large amount of multi‑site entities within the real estate sector that lease and operate several hotels in the UK. You will take ownership of the work handled by the team whilst also being responsible for communicating effectively with senior stakeholders (auditors, tax advisors, property management representatives).

Knowing how to build an effective team by fostering open dialogue, working collaboratively and instilling trust, through honest integrity and sincerity is essential. Sharing your knowledge and experience to up‑skill your team is key, so collectively you will find solutions to build strong customer relationships with existing and new clients, gaining insight into their needs and delivering customer‑centric solutions.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of UK entities made up of investment holding entities, property ownership entities and hotel‑owned operation entities within the hotel industry. The portfolio will include production of management accounts under UK GAAP FRS 102 which will then need to be reported to Group under IFRS with any GAAP adjustments being identified and processed. You will possess a high level of technical expertise and experience in respect of the production of management accounts, financial statements and the audit process.

Your Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Leads by example in accordance with the CSC values and related behaviours.
  • Meets regularly with direct reports to identify issues, discuss solutions and encourage them to be proactive in identifying potential efficiencies and new revenue opportunities.
Financial Services
  • Prepare statutory financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102)
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts under UK GAAP and report to group under IFRS.
  • Prepare quarterly accounts under UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Liaise with companies' auditors and prepare audit files required by the auditors.
  • Liaise with companies' tax advisers to ensure corporation tax return is filed and on time.
  • Review financial statements and management accounts prepared by client accountants and assist in the accounts production.
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analysis as required by the Client.
  • Maintain client relationships at the appropriate level and maintain favourable impression of the Company.
  • Attend board meetings where necessary.
  • Close involvement with UK cash management team in respect of client payment administrations.
  • Work closely with Company Secretary department to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Assist the Business Development Manager in prospective client tendering (fee quotes and resources planning).
  • Delegate tasks for development purposes and provide appropriate support and supervision.
  • Review and revise existing accounting practices and procedures for any changes in accounting standards.
People Management
  • Identifies development needs for direct reports and agrees action plans, including but not limited to providing training, mentoring, feedback and recognition, draft development plans etc.
  • Encourages and empowers direct reports on personal development, outstanding performance and positive attitude consistent with CSC values.
  • Works closely with direct reports to solve issues and problems and ensure continuous high quality and timeliness of service.
  • Motivates, guides and supports direct reports, providing high quality, up‑to‑date information and support.
  • Supports the Director in managing team capacity and assists in the recruitment process for hiring staff.
  • With the support from the Director and Human Resources, organises the annual appraisal, target setting and promotion process for direct reports.
  • Keeps up to date with new accounting standards and instructs/guards direct reports.
  • Recommends and offers suggestions and solutions for improvements to services.
  • Has regular 1:1s with direct reports offering constructive criticism and feedback.
Client Invoicing
  • Reviews client invoicing and invoice breakdowns before sign‑off by the Director to ensure appropriate chargeability and proper invoicing.
  • Ensures own time and that of the direct reports is recorded daily to ensure appropriate chargeability.
Business Development and Client Relationships
  • Participates in business trips for visiting existing the client.
Your Profile
  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 102) accounting standards.
  • Experience in the production of monthly management accounts with great detailed bookkeeping knowledge for a company that operates in the real estate industry.
  • Knowledge and experience owning the accounts payable function.
  • Experience producing financial statements for real‑estate structures.
  • A highly credible individual with intellectual ability and a hands‑on approach.
  • A high performer with a proven track record of delivering results and demonstrating leadership.
  • Excellent English language skills.
