Who You Are

The Manager, Human Resources Business Partner will report to the Vice President of Human Resources on an interim basis (8 months*) and will manage HR programs/supports across CIEE’s Study Abroad division. This will involve supporting partners across the U.S. and more than 42 international centers to implement HR best practices. Core responsibilities include compliance with global labor laws, employee relations support (in coordination with legal counsel), general HR admin, and ad hoc recruitment support.

What You’ll Do
  • Working with the VP of HR over the next 8 months, you’ll serve as an HR partner to leaders across the Study Abroad division, supporting HR administration, change initiatives, and talent strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations (working with local legal counsel where needed).
  • Support site leaders to ensure compliance with CIEE policies and local labor laws and advise on the development and enforcement of consistent, locally informed HR policies
  • Support employee engagement efforts by gathering and reporting feedback and collaborating with leadership to enhance the employee experience.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity of employee records and organizational management changes
  • Support division heads with regular and ad hoc HR reporting where required
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and other HR functions to support staffing and recruitment initiatives as needed.

*Initially, many of the duties that this person will take on will be to cover maternity leave on the team (working closely with the VP of HR). The duties will be consistent overall, but the percentage of time spent in various areas may change (i.e., heavy employee relations focused for the first 8 months and then will likely transition into 50% HR Admin and 50% Employee Relations when the team member on leave returns). *

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, including experience in a multinational or globally focused organization.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and good awareness of global and U.S. employment laws
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical, and solutions-oriented.
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities, respond quickly, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Solid understanding of core HR functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and ability to manage confidential matters with professionalism.
  • Experience navigating complex employee relations and organizational challenges with simple, effective solutions.
  • Results-driven, people-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.

CIEE believes that professionals with varied backgrounds bring unique approaches and ideas to solving problems and advancing our mission to bring the world together. Qualified candidates from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Due to federal regulations, a background and reference check will be conducted as a condition of employment.
