Overview
  • The initiation and successful delivery of transformation programmes, tackling our clients' most pressing and complex initiatives
  • Sustainable infrastructure to support the government's green infrastructure plan and ambition to deliver net zero to the UK
  • The involvement in early stage, large scale infrastructure project development activities, as well as ongoing support, to drive more successful infrastructure project delivery

We are focused on growing our sustainable infrastructure programme focus and large scale transformation delivery across our wide range of clients within a variety of sectors, including Government, Transport, Energy and Utilities, Housing and Telecommunications. We want people who are passionate about sustainability and climate change and who are keen to help clients realise decarbonisation and energy transition ambitions. We are looking to grow our overall presence across the infrastructure sector and be involved in the design, development and delivery of significant programmes under the recently published UK Infrastructure 10 Year Strategy. As a Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of client engagements across industries. You will help shape, sell and ultimately deliver engagements, with exposure to senior client stakeholders up to Director level. You will not only be developing the recommendations that will ultimately be implemented by our clients, but you will also be a key contributor to the growth of EY's business and our sustainability proposition, by identifying potential opportunities and helping develop new offers and thought leadership to take to market.

Responsibilities
  • Management of EY teams to develop and implement solutions to help enable the successful delivery of Infrastructure transformation projects, including leading workstreams on key client accounts
  • Leading the development of robust and sustainable HMT Green Book business cases
  • Developing innovative solutions from end-to-end to support clients in achieving sustainable change, including their transition to net zero / net negative
  • Delivering presentations to senior clients to provide recommendations and solutions to their problems
  • Management of client stakeholders to achieve alignment and buy-in to a solution or particular direction
  • Leading client meetings and workshops
  • Leading the delivery of programmes and projects, within both traditional and agile project environments
  • Owning and fostering trusted relationships with senior clients that contribute to enhancing EY's brand and reputation
  • Identifying future opportunities within the client or broader Infrastructure sector
  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff
  • Contribute to business development, using knowledge of the Infrastructure market to draft innovative proposals
  • Contribute to internal practice development, around the Infrastructure market in general but also within specific competency / capability focus area (e.g. Transformation, Finance, Supply Chain, Technology)
  • Contribute to EY's positioning across the UK (and global) infrastructure market, through an active social media presence, and thought leadership development
Additional Qualifications & Skills
  • A strong understanding of, and interest in, the UK Infrastructure sector including HMG commitments such as National Infrastructure Strategy and Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and climate change challenges across industries
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following sectors: Energy, Government, Transport, Power and Utilities, Telco and Media
  • Experience working in industry, government or a management consultancy environment
  • Ability to analyse data and deliver insightful, practical solutions
  • Experience of managing teams, including internal staff, clients and wider stakeholders
  • Experience of delivering presentations to senior audiences
  • Skills and experience in Portfolio, Programme and Project Management
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience of working within both traditional and agile project environments
  • The confidence to build lasting relationships and influence senior colleagues and clients in leading roles
  • Proven ability to adapt and learn in an innovative environment
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or experience
  • 5+ years experience within the Infrastructure sector, with specific experience in one or more sub‑capabilities (e.g. Programme management, business case development, transformation definition & delivery, strategy and policy development)
  • The ability to write to a high standard, whilst being fluent/native in English with additional major languages desired
  • Ability to make adapt style and approach to suit different contexts and environments
  • Identifying, creating and sustaining value
  • A willingness to travel and work across the UK and potentially overseas
Preferred
  • Experience of working on large scale digitally enabled infrastructure programmes
  • An ability to adapt and learn in an innovative environment
