Job Overview

We work with the companies that are Britain's economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially‑spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy – and directly advise their owners and management teams. This is an opportunity for a talented, high‑performing and ambitious Senior Manager to join the Corporate Reporting Advisory Team (CRT) in the Audit Quality Department (AQD) during an exciting period, to help shape the role and expand the team.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners within both AQD and the wider firm.
  • Maintain and encourage an open and constructive environment to provide technical accounting support and advice.
  • Bring pre‑existing financial services specialist technical accounting knowledge (e.g., Banking, Alternative Finance, FinTech or Insurance) and experience to the CRT team.
  • Support the CRT Directors and other AQD members, ultimately reporting to AQD lead partners.
  • Conduct technical reviews of a personal portfolio of annual reports of publicly traded and other high‑risk companies, confirming compliance with financial reporting standards, company legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear and practical solutions to the most complex technical financial‑reporting queries and act as a consultant for junior team members in your specialist area.
  • Prepare and present financial‑reporting training, updates and seminars internally and externally.
  • Help develop financial‑reporting tools and guidance for application by the firm's partners and staff.
  • Write articles and other publications on financial‑reporting matters for internal and external communications.
  • Assist with the preparation of draft responses to external consultations in relation to legal, regulatory and financial‑reporting matters.
  • Monitor external developments in financial‑reporting areas, especially in your specialist area, and report back to the team with an appropriate action plan.
  • Support and coach the more junior members of the CRT and wider AQD team.
Qualifications
  • ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent.
  • Senior Manager in a technical team or other relevant experience in technical financial reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRSs, UK GAAP, and the Companies Act.
  • Sector specialism for financial services, particularly Banking, Alternative Finance, FinTech or Insurance.
  • Experience with the annual report content requirements for companies listed on either the Main Market or the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
  • Practical experience performing technical reviews of annual reports of listed companies.
  • Proven ability to apply technical knowledge to complex financial‑reporting issues and provide practical, supportable solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with an ability to adapt to various scenarios.
  • Ability to create productive relationships across the firm, network and influence senior professionals.
  • Willingness to work as part of a close‑knit team and as a self‑directed individual.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, with a desire to innovate and seek new ways to improve service to internal customers.
