Management Information Systems Assistant – Dearne Valley College, Rotherham

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Salary: £23,971 (£16,520.55 pro‑rata) per year + benefits
Hours: Part‑time (25.5 hrs each week) – all year round
Duration: Temporary until November 2026

About the Role

The Management Information Systems (MIS) Assistant is a key member of the MIS team, processing learner information and data for a campus within the RNN Group. You will work closely with the MIS Officer, Exams Officer and other MIS team members to deliver accurate, responsive services across the learning journey, from enrolment to course completion. Your proactive, customer‑focused approach will help the College achieve its mission of leading skills and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process learner information, including enrolment documentation, exam entries, transfers, withdrawals and achievements
  • Assist in curriculum planning to support high‑quality Management Information Service delivery
  • Collaborate with MIS and Exams staff to ensure an accurate and responsive service on each campus
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working in an administration environment, preferably within education
  • Proficiency with computer packages; accurate and deadline‑driven work
  • Level 2 (GCSE) qualifications in English and Maths
  • Good IT skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer‑service orientation and proactive work ethic

Additional Information

All new employees will undertake a DBS and other checks in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance. The Group’s core operating hours are 8:30 am‑5:00 pm (9 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time); you may be expected to work at any time within these hours to meet business needs.
