Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK seeks a proactive Management Accountant to manage month end processes and improve financial reporting. This role involves collaboration with the finance team and stakeholders and requires a qualified accountant with at least 2 years of management accounting experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central and advanced Excel skills are preferred. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and a contract duration of 6 months.

Location: Woking (hybrid, 3 days per week) Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum Contract: 6 month duration, either FTC or day rate Are you a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant looking for your next challenge? This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible role where your ideas will shape processes, influence decision-making, and support the continued success of an ambitious organisation.

You will work closely with the Head of Finance and a supportive finance team, taking responsibility for managing their month end processes, accurate financial reporting, and continuous process improvement.

What you'll be doing:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow reporting
  • Business partnering with non-finance colleagues, providing meaningful insights and financial guidance
  • Ownership of financial reporting for several entities, building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Leading improvements in processes, controls and systems
  • Supporting annual budgets, forecasting and year-end audit
  • Reviewing stock audits, managing intercompany reconciliations and preparing VAT returns
  • Overseeing settlements, payments, payroll authorisation and cash management
  • Development and support of Assistant Management Accountants and Finance Admin Assistants
What we're looking for:
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 2 years' management accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel and strong systems capability (experience Microsoft Business Central would be very advantageous)
  • Excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Calm and confident working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
