A financial consulting firm is seeking an experienced Management Accountant for a 6-month contract based in London. The role involves various responsibilities including journal preparation, variance analysis, and assisting with management accounts. Ideal candidates will be qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong Excel and financial accounting skills. Hands-on experience with NetSuite is preferred. This hybrid role offers a competitive daily rate of £250 to £300 outside IR35.

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a small, fast-paced finance team on a 6-month contract. This is a hands‑on role suited to a seasoned contractor who can quickly add value and comfortably work across both management and financial accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts
• Assist in the production of monthly management accounts
• Perform variance analysis against budget and prior periods
• Support budgeting activities, including data collection and consolidation
• Update rolling forecasts based on latest actuals
• Prepare financial reports as required
• Review cost centres and identify trends or anomalies
• Assist with cost allocation and overhead analysis
• Update cash flow forecasts
• Monitor and report on working capital metrics
• Support revenue forecasting activities
• Raise invoices and manage billing processes
• Work with international supplier VAT invoices
• Gather documentation for internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with financial controls and policies
• Identify inefficiencies in reporting or reconciliation processes and suggest automation or simplification opportunities
• Support scenario modelling and profitability analysis
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data

Skills & Experience Required

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience at Management Accountant level
• Strong financial accounting background, including payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations
• Hands‑on experience using NetSuite
• Experience working in a small finance team covering a broad range of activities
• Strong Excel skills (intermediate level), including:
• Manipulating large data sets
• Use of formulas such as SUMIF and XLOOKUP
• Tables, named ranges, charts, and pivot tables
• Ideally a seasoned contractor accustomed to delivering impactful support within short timeframes

Desirable

• Experience with international VAT
• Background in dynamic or fast‑growing environments
