A well-established UK business operating within the specialist vehicle and fleet solutions sector is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its finance team. The organisation works with both public and private sector clients, delivering tailored vehicle solutions alongside long-term fleet support and technical expertise. With strong industry knowledge and a focus on quality and accountability, the business continues to invest in its people and financial infrastructure.
This role plays a key part in supporting the financial management of the business. You will take ownership of core management accounting processes, ensure accurate reporting and provide meaningful insight to support operational and strategic decision making.
Review and verify financial data from across the business, including sales invoicing and cost reporting
Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments
Maintain the fixed asset register and hire purchase schedule
Reconcile stock and all balance sheet accounts, maintaining full supporting schedules
Manage inter-departmental cost recharges
Produce reporting on income, expenditure, profit margins and utilisation
Analyse variances and anomalies, providing clear commentary and insight
Collate departmental performance metrics
Support the annual budgeting process, including meetings with department heads
Complete quarterly forecast updates and analysis against budget
Prepare quarterly VAT returns
Assist with day-to-day cash management
Support external audits and liaise with auditors
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase automation
Oversee reconciliation of company credit cards and fuel cards
Provide financial input into strategic projects and business cases
Support and develop junior members of the finance team
ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent
Proven experience in a management accounting role
Strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar
