Qualifications

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits

As a Maintenance Tutor in our HMP Fosse Way team, you’ll empower people in people to develop practical maintenance skills, supporting their growth and future opportunities. You’ll help learners build confidence and pride in their abilities, preparing them for meaningful employment and a better future.

What you’ll do as a Maintenance Tutor
  • Design and deliver educational programmes that align with course aims, reviewing and improving content for quality.
  • Plan engaging lessons using high-quality materials and resources to optimise learning.
  • Manage all aspects of learner accreditation.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, achievements, and provide performance reports as needed.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with learners to foster a productive learning environment.
  • Support security procedures by carrying out rub‑down searches of prisoners when required.
Does this sound like you?
  • A minimum Level 3 award in Education and Training (QCF), or equivalent.
  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Maintenance or a related subject area.
  • Experience in roles requiring strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience in your subject area.
