£35,000 - £40,000 + bonus + overtime opportunity

3 on 3 off shift pattern, working nights (6pm - 6am)

Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of automated equipment and systems within a FMCG production operation. You'll be responsible for identifying and resolving electrical and mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and minimising downtime across the site. You will also work closely with the operations team to ensure compliance to safety standards and regulations at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on a range of automated equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical & electrical faults.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to increase efficiency, productivity, quality and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
Experience
  • Previous experience working in a Maintenance Engineering or Technician role within an automated production environment.
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding skills, including the ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  • Preferably good understanding and experience in mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience with PLCs, conveyors and motors is highly desirable.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications in electrical maintenance (such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, C&G or equivalent).
  • Preferably some form of mechanical qualification to supplement your electrical skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
