Maintenance Scheduler - South Kirkby, Wakefield
£30,000-£35,000 per annum

We are seeking a detail-oriented, well-organised Maintenance Scheduler to join our team. The job will include scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance, responding to emergency maintenance requests, and managing maintenance team resources.

Our ideal candidate has experience in maintenance scheduling, a keen eye for detail, and excellent time management skills.

Key responsibilities for the Maintenance Scheduler:
  • Develop and manage detailed maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities. Ensuring timely completion of tasks while aligning with production needs.
  • Coordinate with teams across the site (and off-site facilities) to prioritise tasks and allocate resources effectively.
  • Using the Biffa MMS systems (Shire) to manage workflow activities.
  • Schedule the maximum amount of work with the available resources.
  • Schedule according to the highest priority work orders.
  • Liaising with site maintenance teams, contractors, and external suppliers.
  • Preparing reports and dashboards on maintenance KPIs and performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety legislation and internal procedures (e.g. RAMS, HSE).
  • Supporting audits and inspection readiness.
  • Resource Management – ensure that maintenance teams have the necessary tools and parts to complete their tasks efficiently.
Essential criteria:
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Scheduler or similar role.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software.
