Job summary

A leading environmental services company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer at the Redbournbury Treatment Plant in St Albans. Qualifications

  • Driving license and ability to travel to the site.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake preventative maintenance and repair of the plant and equipment.
  • Ensure breakdowns are addressed promptly.
  • Maintain records of available spares and equipment.
  • Assist with commissioning of new equipment.
  • Record maintenance activities and permit to work systems.
  • Oversee safe operation and efficiency of the plant.

Salary: £14.47 (£30,097.60) plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 per week Monday - Friday 8:00am - 17:00pm

1 in 4 Saturdays (8am - 1pm) - which will be paid as overtime.

What will you be doing?
  • Undertake preventative / maintenance and repair of the plant and equipment
  • Ensure that breakdowns are attended
  • Maintain record keeping of available spares and accessories
  • Assist site management and contractors in any commissioning trials on new equipment, new treatment ideas or plant
  • Maintain records relating to maintenance of site, equipment and records of works carried out at site including permit to work systems
  • Oversee and ensure the safe operation, maintenance, monitoring and reporting of efficiency of the waste processing plant on site including all pumping equipment on site.
What are we looking for?
  • Similar operational / manual handling experience
  • Full UK driving licence and transport to be able to travel to the site
  • Experience in maintenance tasks (ie pump repair)
