Job summary

A leading student accommodation provider in Bangor is seeking Summer Maintenance Assistants for a temporary role of up to 4 weeks. Responsibilities include basic repairs, assisting the Maintenance Technician, and ensuring the readiness of the facilities for new residents. Ideal candidates will have relevant maintenance experience and strong teamwork skills, with health and safety knowledge being essential. Join iQ Student Accommodation this summer! The summer turn is one of the busiest and most important times of the year at iQ. As students move out, our teams work hard to clean, maintain, and refresh our buildings, making sure everything is ready for the next academic year. We're looking for Summer Maintenance Assistants to help us deliver safe, high-quality spaces for our residents and summer guests.

What you'll do:
  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, painting, decorating, and lighting replacements.
  • Support the Maintenance Technician with moving furniture and equipment.
  • Assist on move-in days, helping residents feel welcome.
  • Report and respond to maintenance issues quickly and safely.
  • Work as part of a supportive team to keep our buildings to a high standard.
What we're looking for:
  • Experience in maintenance, repairs, construction, or a similar hands-on role.
  • Awareness of health & safety practices.
  • Practical, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Friendly and professional with strong teamwork skills.
  • Trade qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, etc.) are desirable but not essential.
