Overview of Position

Position Title: Mechanic

Reports To: General Manager

The Mechanic is responsible for providing maintenance for all heavy equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and accurate monthly equipment inspections
• Troubleshoot various heavy equipment product lines
• Read schematics – both electrical and hydraulic
• Repairs, modifies, designs, lays out, and fabricates a variety of metal work including construction vehicles and equipment
• Diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in gas- and diesel-powered engines, including graders, loaders, rollers, dozers, sweepers, tractors, and other heavy equipment
• Works on mobile equipment including CAT trucks, front end loaders, skid steerers, service trucks, and cranes
• Changes lights, wiper blades, and converters on equipment
• Assists in dismantling worn machinery and equipment; installs new machinery and equipment
• Operates crane

Work Environment

This job operates in a mechanic shop. This role requires the completion of tasks in a heavy industrial setting requiring a sense of high-level safety reverence using the required PPE for the environment.
