Position Description: Coolkeeragh Power Station comprises a 400 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine and 53MW Open Cycle Gas Turbine and is located in Maydown, N. Ireland. The Maintenance Manager will form part of the senior management team at Coolkeeragh Power Station taking responsibility for the maintenance of the plant.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, high performing person to work in a rewarding and achievement focussed environment with a track record of successfully delivering the company vision. They will be a team player, flexible and a self-starter with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. They will have the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, be able to lead as required and have a demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation while maintaining safety and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibility of this role is to maintain a best-in-class CCGT Power Station and meet the contractual obligations and commercial targets set for the plant. Other key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Implementation of maintenance policies
  • Delivering safe and quality assured maintenance practices
  • Ensuring best practice Work Management processes are executed systematically
  • Optimising on-line and off-line plant maintenance
  • Ensuring the Maintenance Team have all required skills and competencies to meet the demands of the station
  • Promoting & Fostering teamwork and empowering and developing maintenance teams to deliver optimum capability
  • Continually improving the overall asset performance
  • Dealing effectively with suppliers, statutory bodies, outside agencies and contractors
  • Management of spares; optimisation of parts holding
  • Optimising contractual agreements with contractors and suppliers
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated ability in leading a customer focused team
  • Strong IT skills

Desirable

  • 7-10 years’ experience in CCGT power plant operations, maintenance and/or systems is desirable
  • Experience in project management and/or good planning skills
Qualifications

Essential

  • A recognised degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or substantial equivalent work experience

This position will be based in Coolkeeragh Power Station, Maydown, N. Ireland.
