Overview

About the Role: We are currently seeking a Resident Maintenance Engineer to join our on-site team at a high-profile automated warehouse in Thatcham. This hands-on role is key to ensuring the reliability and performance of a fast-moving, automated intralogistics environment.

Reporting to the Resident Maintenance Site Supervisor, you will carry out both planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs, working closely with the on-site team and customer to maintain operational efficiency.

The role follows a Panama shift pattern (24/7 rotation), alternating between 06:00–18:00 and 18:00–06:00, averaging 42 hours per week.

Starting salary: £55,100 rising to £58,000 after probation, plus benefits.

Key Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification (ONC/HNC/BTEC/NVQ) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline
  • Multi-skilled (Electrical/Mechanical); PLC and CMMS experience desirable
  • Experience with automated materials handling systems
  • Comfortable working at height
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Health & Safety qualifications are a plus
