Job description
Overview

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at Perrin & Rowe in Wolverhampton.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out repairs to plant equipment and machinery as part of the Maintenance and wider Production team.
  • Attending breakdowns across both facilities, ensuring a rapid response and minimising downtime.
  • Conducting regular inspections and planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment, including: Automated machinery (pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, robots); LEVs, testing rigs, assembly lines, and other production equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns using fault-finding techniques, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively contributing to Total Performance Management (TPM) activities to improve safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Driving continuous improvement by sharing ideas and supporting efficiency initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively within the team, supporting colleagues and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
  • A relevant qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (NVQ, HNC) or completion of an engineering apprenticeship.
  • Proven electrical or mechanical maintenance experience (multi-skilled preferred), ideally within a kiln or furnace environment.
  • Knowledge of controls, fault analysis, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong technical ability with automation hardware and software.
  • High standards of workmanship, organisation, and communication.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplined team.
Desirable
  • Level 3 Qualification in Inspection and Testing.
  • Portable Appliance Testing qualification.
  • Experience working on industrial electrical installations.
  • PLC experience.
