Overview

Maintenance Engineer – Birmingham – £47,900 – Monday to Friday double days (6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm rotating).

Want to work as an engineer within a fast paced FMCG business? They are a family owned business who manufacture out of an automated factory. Due to expansion and investment in a brand new packaging line and canning lines, they are now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. As a Maintenance Engineer, all overtime is paid at x1.5. The role involves a mixture of PPM and reactive breakdowns. Some of the machinery you will be working on includes conveyors, packaging machines, palletisers, de-palletisers, metal detectors, box-erectors, robots, filling lines, pumps and much more. Main PLCs on site are Siemens S7. Training courses on PLCs and mech-elect conversion are available. They are happy to consider both mechanical and electrical bias maintenance engineers. Note: a lot of the work involves mechanical tasks also.

  • Support the introduction of a brand new packaging line and canning lines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure uptime and safety compliance.
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical systems with respect to 3-phase motors, contactors, sensors and relays.
Experience and qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Qualified in an engineering discipline (C&G/NVQ).
  • Knowledge of 3-phase motors, contactors, sensors, relays and basic electrical.
  • Mechanical competence in bearings, belts, chains, etc.
  • Open to candidates from FMCG, Food, plastic, packaging, Pharmaceutical, foundry, distribution, automotive, metals, and related sectors.
Shift pattern

Monday - Friday double days: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm, rotating.
