Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Dorking to assist with breakdowns and perform maintenance on plant and equipment. Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Dorking

Pay: £45,000 Basic

Hours: Monday to Friday Days - 37.5 hrs per week

Overall Purpose of the Position

Assist in first response to breakdowns to an array of plant, equipment and facilities ranging from hand tools and painting equipment to compressors, heating and ventilation systems, and robotic welding cells, whilst keeping within budgetary constraints.

Main Duties of the Maintenance Engineer
  • Ensure plant, equipment and facilities comply with and are maintained to relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations, through own actions, liaising and supporting external contractors.
  • Carry out unsupervised reactive maintenance repairs, fault finding, testing to a wide range of services, helping to keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Ensure departmental procedures are adhered to and maintained. When required assist with maintaining plant register and all other test and monitoring records (i.e. LEV, COSHH, lifting equipment, PAT, legionella, etc).
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in a safe manner. Produce and maintain risk assessments as required.
  • Attend weekly Continuous Improvement meetings as required and react to repair/maintenance requests.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance projects and establish asset servicing and spare part inventories within a lean operating environment.
  • Willingly carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the company.
