Job description

Looking for an engineering role where you can develop new skills and have opportunities to further you career? Opportunity to be part of an established, growing food business continues to invest in both its site and its people.

Previous food experience isn’t required and we’re looking for electrical and mechanical engineers to join a high-performing maintenance team.

The site is easily commutable from Doncaster, Pontefract and Goole.

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday (1530 – 1430, 1430 – 2330)

About the Role:

Based at a large, fast-paced food manufacturing business you will be part of a multiskilled engineering team responsible for all planned and reactive maintenance across the site.

Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, your key responsibilities include:

  • Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and disruptions to production.
  • Ensuring all planned maintenance is carried out to a high standard.
  • Proactively looking for long-term engineering solutions to recurring issues, with a strong focus on continuous improvement,
  • Getting involved in upgrade and installation projects.
About You:

You’ll need to be apprentice trained (or have equivalent experience) and hold NVQ Level 3 or above in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Our client is open on industry background, but you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of working in an engineering maintenance role.
  • A proactive, inquisitive approach to engineering along with a methodical approach to resolving problems.
  • Keen to learn and develop new skills.
  • A team player, willing to share your knowledge and experience with the rest of the team.
  • PLC fault-finding skills (for electrically biased engineers).
  • Experience of using Pirana or similar CMMS.
