Maintenance Engineer

3.5 Days (42 Hours Per Week)

Week 1 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 12 Hours & Wednesday 6 Hours

Week 2 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 12 Hours & Friday 6 Hours

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mech Bias) to join the team at a busy manufacturing site in Skelmersdale!

Playing a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement through effective asset care and maintenance strategies ensuring the schedule of maintenance is completed while supporting on breakdowns.

You will need to be a strong communicator to effectively collaborate with the wider engineering and operations team providing detailed feedback while leading and supporting continuous improvements.

Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer

Proactively approach the planned preventative maintenance schedule.

Adhere to Health and Safety Standards at all times.

Demonstrate hands on ownership and confidence when responding to breakdowns.

Prioritise system faults.

Accurately record work carried out.

Collaborate with colleagues.

Ensure CMMS is correctly updated

Support Continuous Improvement projects.

Qualifications required for a Maintenance Engineer

Time Served Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3.

Strong electrical / Mechanical Knowledge.

Experience with CMMS and SCADA systems.

A sense of ownership for safety, quality, and performance.

Problem‑solving skills.

Good communication.
