Maintenance Engineer – Days Only (4 on 4 off)

£52,500 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Are you a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a long‑term role within a stable, growing business? This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, well‑equipped manufacturing site operating cutting‑edge automation and packaging machinery.

We are seeking a proactive, safety‑focused engineer who enjoys a varied workload, thrives under pressure, and can work both independently and as part of a strong team.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all site machinery, carrying out a mix of reactive maintenance and long‑term improvement work. Key responsibilities include :

  • Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across a range of production and packaging equipment
  • Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
  • Supporting the introduction and development of a new PPM schedule
  • Ensuring safe isolation of equipment in line with legislation and best practice
  • Working closely with the Engineering Manager to prioritise tasks
  • Participating in engineering and non‑engineering projects to support site development
  • Providing continuous improvement support to help optimise plant performance
Key Competencies
  • Strong electrical bias with mechanical capability

  • Effective communicator able to work well with a diverse team
  • Skilled in fault finding, diagnostics, and problem solving
  • Able to manage a busy workload and make sound technical decisions under pressure
Equipment & Systems Exposure
  • Motors, sensors, relays
  • Bearings, belts, chains, pumps
  • Flow wrappers, case packers, graders
  • Robots and automated packaging lines
  • Control systems, conveyors, and MAF Roda machinery
Shift Pattern
  • Days only – NO NIGHTS
  • Week 1 : 4 on 4 off (7am – 7pm)
  • Week 2 : 4 on 4 off (12pm – 12am)
  • Average 42 hours per week
