This is a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of all maintenance activities at a fast‑paced production site. You'll be responsible for PPM, breakdowns, site services, compliance, and contractor control, ensuring safe and reliable operation across all machines and facilities.

Planned Maintenance & Breakdown Response
Deliver the full PPM schedule for the site
Accurately log and close out maintenance tasks
React quickly and safely to breakdowns
Plan major repairs and shutdowns with minimal disruption
Ensure statutory inspections are completed (LOLER, pressure systems, LEV, electrical, fire safety)
Maintain guarding, interlocks, LOTO, emergency lighting and alarms
Support safe systems of work including permits, RAMS, hot work, working at height
Report and act on any safety concerns or machinery risks
Mechanical fault finding, strip downs and rebuilds
Bearings, belts, shafts, pumps, valves, pneumatics, hydraulics
Fabrication and fitting when required
Supporting machine improvements and reliability projects
Maintain compressed air, HVAC, lighting, extraction, and general building fabric
Highlight areas needing repair or capital investment
Keep the site tidy, safe, and audit-ready
Source and supervise contractors for specialist work
Review RAMS, issue permits, and ensure safe working practices
Manage costs for parts, spares, and external services
Monitor and control maintenance spend
Identify energy and resource waste and suggest improvements
Minimal downtime
PPM completed on time
Quick closure on statutory actions
Safe, compliant operations

Efficient use of parts and contractor resources
⭐ Basic electrical appreciation
⭐ Experience within coatings, textiles, laminating, or similar production environments
⭐ LEV / LOLER / pressure systems awareness
⭐ CI / Lean experience
⭐ IOSH or similar H&S qualification
