Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £59,306.05+ per annum
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (42 hours per week)

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a large, modern, highly automated manufacturing site undergoing continued investment and growth. You will work within a structured engineering function where development is actively encouraged — including clear examples of engineers progressing into senior leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment availability and performance.
- Work safely at all times, following isolation procedures and site safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement using structured problem‑solving tools (PDCA, RCA).
- Provide feedback to planners and engineering leadership to improve schedules, spares, and maintenance strategies.
- Complete pre‑ and post‑maintenance quality checks.
- Manage lubrication activities including mapping, execution, and simplification.
- Train and support autonomous maintenance teams on Clean‑Inspect‑Lubricate routines and fault diagnosis.
- Lead or contribute to root cause analysis investigations.
- Promote and maintain strong 5S standards across the plant.
Equipment & Technical Environment
You will work on a wide range of modern, automated machinery including:
- Conveyors and material handling systems
- Automated processing and packaging equipment
- Drives, motors, and control systems
Typical fault exposure includes:
- Electrical fault‑finding
- Motors, drives, and inverters
- Sensors, relays, and control circuits
- Bearings, belts, chains, and gearboxes
Candidate Requirements
- Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (approx. 60/40 electrical/mechanical or vice versa)
- Electrical qualification essential.
- NVQ Level 3 or time‑served apprenticeship (degree‑only profiles not considered).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault‑finding mindset and willingness to learn.
- Motivated, team‑focused, and curious to continuously develop.
- Desirable (not essential):
- 18th Edition
- Apprentice trained background
