Overview

Maintenance Assistant – AC by Marriott Inverness

This position is based on a full time contract. Gross Salary – competitive.

The Maintenance Assistant is supporting the Maintenance Technician who is responsible for the safety of guests and staff; and, the upkeep of the hotel’s structure, systems and equipment, perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. Together you will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.

The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge; but also, be a dynamic and responsible team player who take pride and joy in achieving outstanding customer service in line with AC hotels standard operating procedures.

The Maintenance Assistant role include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities and will assist the Maintenance Technician with:

Responsibilities
  • Manage and carry out actions for all due diligence in Health & Safety
  • Maintain physical and electronics records of all due diligence and certificates
  • Lead the hotel’s Health & Safety Committees
  • Responsible for all Planned and Preventative Maintenance: bedrooms, plant rooms, equipment, etc
  • Responsible for the department’s budget
  • Liaising directly with Contractors and Suppliers
  • Completing Risk Assessments
  • Carry out staff Training such as H&S, Manual Handling, Fire Panel and Evacuation
  • Minor repair such as lighting, electrical, basic plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating
  • Cleaning up after works and maintaining all areas clean and safe
  • Execution of weekly fire alarm, sprinklers, water tests
  • Operation of technical systems (such as BMS, HVAC) and hotel systems (such as Opera, GXP)
  • Responding to staff and guests requests
  • Recording of incidents, accidents, RIDDOR
  • Maintaining green areas
  • Energy meter readings
Qualifications And Skills Required
  • Proven knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Proven knowledge of PPM: bedrooms, plant rooms, fire and life safety
  • Proactive and well organised. Able to work alone and as part of a team
  • Dexterity and physical stamina
  • Friendly and professional demeanour, natural hospitality
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English
