A leading healthcare provider in Stockport is seeking an experienced leader to develop and manage the Macmillan Cancer Support Centre. This role involves leading the delivery of cancer information and support services, managing staff and volunteers, and collaborating with Macmillan Cancer Services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a strong interest in supporting cancer patients. This is a newly created post supported by Macmillan to ensure the success of the brand-new Macmillan Cancer Support Centre currently under construction at Stepping Hill Hospital, formally opening in Spring 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead a comprehensive cancer supportive service providing this much needed provision for service users across the organisation and the local community. Using expert knowledge and initiative, you will be influential in the initial set up and onwards management of the service to ensure the development of a modern and innovative service provision, leading the development of a long-term strategy for the management and delivery of the service. You will lead and manage the support centre staff and volunteers, while taking a lead role in the delivery of the Cancer Personalised Care agenda for the Trust, supporting training and management across the cancer care coordinator workforce. Using expert knowledge, initiative and service development skills, you will be responsible for developing specialist cancer information provision in line with national strategic objectives and in collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Services.
