  • Permanent - £34.5k £34.5k p.a | Days | Monday to Thursday | 6am–6pm | Site-based role If you’re an experienced Machine Operator / Setter who enjoys running your own machine, taking pride in quality, and working as part of a close-knit production team, this could be the role for you.

This Machine Operator / Setter position places you at the heart of production, operating and setting slitting and rewinding machinery to convert large rolls of adhesive material into finished products that meet strict quality and packaging standards.

You’ll be trusted as the lead operator on your machine, supporting colleagues on shift and helping production run smoothly.

As a Machine Operator / Setter, you’ll be hands‑on, quality‑driven, and confident providing guidance within the work cell, supporting shift changeovers and assisting with troubleshooting when needed.

  • Your key responsibilities as a Machine Operator / Setter: Setting up, inspecting, and operating slitting and rewinding machinery; Loading and unloading jumbo rolls and moving materials safely around the machine; Setting machine tensions to suit different materials; Monitoring product quality and removing non‑conforming items; Taking and submitting quality samples as required; Completing all work order and production paperwork accurately; Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment using 5S principles; Following all health & safety procedures and wearing required PPE; Working closely with packing operators as part of a small production team; Reporting material or production issues promptly to the Shift Manager; Assisting the wider department when required; You may also see this role referred to as Production Machine Operator, Slitter Operator, Rewinder Operator, or Manufacturing Setter.

What we’re looking for: GCSE grade C or above, or at least 2 years’ relevant manufacturing experience; Previous industrial manufacturing experience, ideally within slitting, rewinding, or similar converting processes; A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving; Strong attention to detail and product awareness; Basic computer literacy; Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team; Fluent English, both written and verbal; A reliable attendance record. This is a hands‑on Machine Operator / Setter role where quality, teamwork, and safety are key.
