Machine Operator

Failsworth – salary £26,000 rising to £27,000 from April 2026. Monday‑Friday with weekly rotating shifts.

Role Overview

This position focuses on robot‑assisted packing of finished products, ensuring goods are handled safely, accurately and to a high standard before despatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a robotic packing system handling 25kg bags
• Move finished product and packaging using a counterbalance FLT
• Weigh, label and identify pallets correctly
• Maintain accurate stock movements using internal systems
• Ensure stock rotation and tidy, well‑organised pallet areas
• Keep the robot and packing area clean, safe and compliant
• Occasionally support despatch activity during busy periods or cover, but this is not a despatch role – core focus is robot operation

Shift Pattern

Weekly rotating shifts, Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 2:00pm; 2:00pm – 10:00pm. Will need to be flexible to work 7:00am – 15:00pm + overtime as required. No weekend working.

What You'll Need

• A valid Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
• Experience in robot operation or machine operation
• Confidence working with machinery or automated processes
• Good attention to detail and a safety‑first mindset
• Comfortable handling 25kg products as part of a packing process
• Good numeracy skills
