Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our Converting/Rewinder team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our rewinder machines, ensuring production meets quality and safety standards. You will play a vital part in maintaining operational efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting our continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor rewinder machines to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Conduct pre-use equipment and lifting checks to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Make minor machine adjustments to ensure product accuracy and quality.
  • Complete job cards, documentation, and maintain accurate production records.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are upheld across all work areas.
  • Submit monthly safety observations and contribute to a "zero harm" culture.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements, sharing ideas with the team.
  • Manage environmental challenges, including high temperatures and dust, while adhering to all safety measures in place.
Requirements
  • Strong technical and mechanical mindset with the ability to set up machines and diagnose faults quickly.
  • Experience in a fast-paced FMCG production environment (tissue/paper converting highly desirable).
  • Previous experience operating a converting line within the tissue or paper industry preferred; candidates from food or other FMCG environments will also be considered.
  • Critical thinking skills and confidence to challenge processes where improvements can be made.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to safety protocols.
