About the Role

As the Lunch Site Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and care, ensuring pupils and staff enjoy safe, nutritious meals in a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve breakfast, breaktime, and lunchtime meals to pupils and staff
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
  • Manage stock, place food orders, and monitor supplies
  • Comply with Health & Safety, food safety, and hygiene legislation
  • Support pupil care by being aware of allergies and following safeguarding procedures
  • Undertake additional cleaning tasks to maintain overall standards
  • Assist in minor first aid incidents under the guidance of the registered first aider
  • Contribute positively to the school environment as part of the team
Person Specification
  • Knowledge of food safety, COSHH, and cleaning best practices
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team
  • Good personal hygiene and ability to follow instructions

Wessex Lodge School currently comprises three sites: Wessex Lodge Primary School located in Kilmington, Wessex Lodge Secondary School located in Frome, and Newmead Farm, located in Maiden Bradley. All sites allow students the opportunity to explore the curriculum alongside a range of subject paths, including animal care, horticulture, DT, and forest school, as well as sporting activities.
