Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Logistics Service assistants to meet service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with local Clinical Commission Groups (CCGs), Lancashire Care NHS and other health-related organisations.
- Manage sickness absence, training requirements and annual PDR for yourself and your team, ensuring training compliance.
- Run the shift with support from a helpdesk operator for internal and external logistics movements for the Trust and the wider Health Care Service in the community.
- Organise and manage office, ward and departmental moves, deliveries of stock, and maintain rotation processes.
- Deliver daily stock collections and deliveries to all GP surgeries and clinics within the East Lancashire area.
- Maintain vehicles in line with the Logistics UK van excellence award, ensuring compliance with the Operator's Licence and vehicle PPMs.
- Utilise Microsoft Word and Excel to create electronic spreadsheets and databases for daily operations.
Investigation and Flexibility
The department operates a 7‑day service over 52 weeks, including bank holidays. Supervisory lines must be covered throughout the week, with occasional covering of Logistics Services Assistants’ schedules to maintain service provision.
Driving Licence
A driving licence for vehicles with manual gear boxes is required for this role.
Qualifications
- GCSE (Grade C or above) in English and Maths or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 3 in Supervision/Management or equivalent qualification/skills.
- Successful experience supervising staff.
- Ability to adhere to quality standards and departmental procedures.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in portering or delivery services or with members of the public.
- Computer and keyboard proficiency.
- Willingness to work extra hours if required.
- Safer handling, medical gas or other specialist training.
