Job description

Our client, a well-established engineering company based in Cardiff, is seeking a Weighbridge/Logistics Operator to join their team on a temporary ongoing contract, starting ASAP.

About the role
  • Immediate start, ongoing position
  • Working hours: Shifts, DAYS AND NIGHTS - 4 on / 4 off
  • Hourly rate: £12.21
The job role:

You will be the point of contact for logistics in and out of the site.

  • Weighing vehicles (lorries/trains) to check that the load weights are correct
  • Issuing the correct documentation, including delivery documents, waste management documentation, or scrap transactions
  • Maintaining safety standards, ensuring drivers follow site rules, wear correct PPE, and addressing safety concerns
  • Communicating effectively with drivers and internal departments such as planning
  • Using internal databases and Microsoft Office to ensure documentation and records are accurate
  • Managing customer requirements
  • Liaising with various departments within the company
  • Assisting planners and loading staff with updates or amendments
  • Ensuring vehicle and driver compliance with site rules and safe working practices
