Locum Specialty Doctor in General Paediatrics (Medical & Specialties Rota) – Northern Ireland

Position: Specialty Doctor in General Paediatrics (Medical & Specialties Rota)

Location: Northern Ireland

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to extend)

Duration: 7th August 2024 – 6 months (initially)

Hours: Full-Time, Full Shift Rota including out-of-hours shifts

Start Date: 7th August 2024

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialty Doctor in General Paediatrics to join our team in Northern Ireland. This is a full-time position starting on 7th August 2024 for an initial period of six months, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will work on a full shift rota, including out-of-hours shifts on the Medical Specialties Rota, and must manage their own line, including shift swaps and leave requests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality care and management for paediatric patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for paediatric conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for paediatric patients.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics, consultations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Participate in emergency paediatric care and manage acute presentations.
  • Manage own rota line including shift swaps and leave requests.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
  • Adhere to clinical guidelines and standards of care to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Participate in teaching and training of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • Experience in General Paediatrics at the specialty doctor level.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
  • Ability to manage own rota line, including shift swaps and leave requests.
  • Availability for a full shift rota, including out-of-hours shifts on the Medical Specialties Rota.
