Job summary

A large integrated health board in Cardiff seeks a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to cover maternity leave for approximately 12 months. The ideal candidate should be on the Specialist Register or close to obtaining their CCT. Responsibilities include providing midwife-led and obstetric-led care, partaking in clinical governance, and engaging in multidisciplinary teaching. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of £121,264 per annum and flexibility in working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Broad training and experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
• Recent participation in emergency drills.
• Ability to work in a regional service at a Consultant level.

Responsibilities

• Provide midwife-led and obstetric-led care to women.
• Engage in teaching Obstetrics & Gynaecology to medical students.
• Participate in clinical audit and governance.

Skills

Evidence of effective team and multidisciplinary working

Effective and demonstrable communication skills

Competence in ultrasound

Education

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise

MRCOG or equivalent

Qualification in ultrasound scanning
