Job description
Overview

We are looking for a full-time Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our tertiary hospital team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant labour suite cover, elective caesarean lists, ward rounds, maternity triage, assessment unit cover and antenatal clinics (obstetrics).
  • For gynaecology, support the community service and general gynaecology clinics within NUH. The job plan includes a procedure session for hysteroscopy or colposcopy and will include cover for emergency gynaecology and early pregnancy on a 1 in 16 hot week rota, plus cover for the elective gynaecology ward one day per month.
  • We have a two-tier gynaecology on-call consultant rota: one consultant covers emergency gynaecology at the QMC campus, the other consultant is on-call for complex surgery (including oncology) at City and maternity on both campuses, to support the obstetric team as required.

Please see the job plan for a description of the clinical sessions. The balance of activities will be as described, but the scheduling may be amended after discussion prior to commencement of the post.
