A regional health provider in Carmarthen is seeking an experienced senior Trauma and Orthopaedics surgeon to deliver high-quality foot and ankle services. The ideal candidate will have full GMC registration, expertise in foot and ankle surgery, and experience working in acute care settings. This role involves close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams within the Health Board, fostering an inclusive environment to enhance patient care.
This is a replacement post being offered on a 12 month fixed term basis. We are looking for a motivated colleague committed to providing a high quality foot and ankle service. The successful candidate would join a culturally varied department with a strong work ethos and determination to improve and maintain standards of care.
This appointment is Health Board wide, with your principal place of employment being Glangwili General Hospital (GGH).
As a senior employee of the Health Board, the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board's patients.
This is an exciting time to join the department, with the hospital site identified as a dedicated Trauma Unit the main hub being the Major Trauma Centre based at University Hospital Wales, Cardiff.

48 general practices (six of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
