Overview

Locum Consultant Gynaecologist with an interest in Urogynaecology. The post is a Gynaecology-only role covering urogynaecology elective work, including Urogynaecology clinics, Urogynaecology MDT, Outpatient cystoscopy, urodynamic studies and Gynaecology theatres. The role also includes other clinical work in general gynaecology clinics, Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16 and non-resident out of hours on-calls for Gynaecology 1:16. All acute services are based at the Princess Royal site with elective activities provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites.

• Corporate SPA 0.5 PA to support Gynaecology incident review
• An additional 0.5 PA available for a corporate SPA role or other clinical interest, to be agreed with the Clinical Director based on skills and interests

Service Context

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales. The catchment includes towns across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Powys. Main service locations are the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury, located about 20 minutes apart. Both hospitals provide a wide range of acute hospital services including accident & emergency, outpatients, diagnostics, inpatient medical care and critical care.
