Overview

Local Authority Repairs and Maintenance Manager, Manchester. Pay rate to £400 per day. Contract role, Local Authority Housing. Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Repairs and Maintenance Manager in Manchester. You will need to have experience in a similar role in a Local Authority Housing setting.

Key duties and role outline
  • Effective management of a high-quality repairs and maintenance service, a multidisciplinary team of construction professionals and support services, to ensure that all statutory duties are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practice.
  • Be responsible for managing the reactive repairs service, major repairs service, void properties, and the disrepair service, being assigned to lead on one or more specific areas, according to operational needs and management direction.
  • Ensure the repairs service is appropriately resourced, managed and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are maintained in accordance with best practice, including H&S and CDM responsibilities.
  • Ensure the team contributes to the achievement of strategic priorities, based on the deliverables in the ‘A Place Called Home’ vision, resident feedback and data analytics, and cost analysis.
  • Promote a high-performance culture and ensure a Right First Time approach is at the core of the delivery of the service.
  • Support the Head of Repairs and Maintenance in developing the council’s HRA strategic repairs and maintenance strategy and service.
  • Work collaboratively with residents to understand the resident experience from first contact through to resolution, manage resident expectations and concerns, and ensure service delivery plans reflect resident expectations.
