Overview

Position: Personal Assistant / Care Assistant

Job reference: LL09/12/DR2

Hours

Variable hours ranging from 16-24 hours a week (minimum 16 hours a week). Schedule: Tuesday 9.00am – 1.00pm; Wednesday and Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm (double up). Flexibility to cover holidays and provide extra hours when needed. You will be working with two other Personal Assistants on double up duties to provide support with personal care and when out in the community.

About the employer

The Employer is a lady living with her family and three dogs (2 small and 1 larger dog, all house trained) in Wellingborough. You will need to be comfortable around dogs.

Main duties
  • A friendly, caring and reliable person is wanted to provide support to a lady living with Multiple Sclerosis with Paraplegia.
  • Role includes personal care, help with daily living (day to day activities) and companionship.
  • Supporting with appointments and outings.
  • Tasks will include washing/dressing, meal preparation, general household duties (cleaning, washing, ironing, bed changing and assisting with mobility etc.)
  • Care experience/manual handling preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
  • A driver with a full licence is essential (insurance restrictions may apply), as you will be driving an adapted mobility car with a ramp for the lady’s wheelchair for appointments and outings.
  • You will need to be kind, patient, dependable and trustworthy. Happy to help both at home and out and about.

  • Full references and an enhanced DBS check will be required.
  • Car driver essential.
