Overview

A lovely family based in the Isle of Dogs, London is looking for a Live-in Nanny to provide attentive care for their charming toddler. An ideal candidate will be someone experienced, caring, and easygoing with a basic understanding of child development. The role involves all general childcare duties. While the family would prefer someone who speaks Chinese, Cantonese, or Mandarin, they are also open to English-speaking candidates. A valid first aid qualification is essential to this position. The family is seeking someone who can start immediately.

Working hours and accommodation

Working hours: Monday to Friday from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm, 50 hours per week. Accommodation: Same room as the baby, double bed, own room.

Duties
  • Assisting with nappy changes and preparing bottles for infants
  • Bathing the children and ensuring proper hygiene is maintained
  • Ensuring the safety, well-being, and healthy development of the children
  • Engaging the children in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings such as visits to the park
  • Encouraging early literacy through regular reading and storytelling
  • Assisting with homework and supporting the children’s academic progress
  • Establishing and maintaining consistent daily routines to promote structure and development
  • Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the children’s needs
  • Keeping the children’s bedrooms, play areas, and general spaces clean, tidy, and well-organised
  • Handling the children’s laundry, including washing, ironing, and folding
  • Occasionally shopping for children’s essentials and household supplies
Qualifications and preferences
  • Experience with toddlers and basic understanding of child development
  • A valid first aid qualification is essential
  • Languages: ideally Chinese, Cantonese, or Mandarin; English-speaking candidates are also welcome
