What you'll do

As a Linen Porter in the Housekeeping team at The Dorchester, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction. You will:

  • Deliver and collect linen efficiently across guest bedrooms and service areas, ensuring the team has what they need for seamless guest experiences.
  • Maintain an organized system for stocking clean linen and removing used linen, supporting daily housekeeping operations.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of public areas, stepping in when needed to uphold our high standards.
  • Assist with guest requests related to linen or public area standards, handling each interaction with professionalism.
  • Show flexibility and reliability, responding to daily needs and working collaboratively with Room Attendants and Supervisors.
  • Contribute to guest comfort, understanding that the quality of linens and cleanliness impacts the overall guest experience.

What you'll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A positive, hands-on attitude with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to supporting housekeeping operations.
  • Physically fit to meet the demands of a fast-paced hotel environment, including lifting and moving linen supplies.
  • Fluent in English, with the confidence to interact with colleagues and respond to guest needs courteously.


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel housekeeping team or similar guest-facing environment.
  • An eye for detail and pride in creating a polished, well-presented environment.
  • Familiarity with handling linen inventory and working with structured shift patterns.
