PTE Group is a market-leading vehicle body building business based in Welshpool, specialising in Ute trays, truck bodies, trailers, custom builds and transport equipment for major clients across Western Australia.


Due to continued growth, we are seeking a hands‑on Light Fabrication Team Leader for an immediate start. This role suits an experienced Vehicle Body Builder / Fabricator who is confident on the tools and ready to lead from the workshop floor.


You will set the standard for quality and productivity, keep jobs moving, and support your team in a fast‑paced production environment.


About the Role

This is a working Team Leader position. You will be on the tools daily while supervising a fabrication team, ensuring quality workmanship, safe work practices and production deadlines are consistently met. This is not an office‑based role.


Key Requirements


  • Strong background in light fabrication within a workshop environment

  • Proven experience leading or supervising a fabrication team

  • Experience in truck tray and Ute tray manufacturing (highly regarded)

  • Confident reading and working from fabrication drawings

  • Ability to train, mentor and develop apprentices and tradespeople

  • Clear, practical communication and leadership skills

  • High attention to detail with neat, consistent workmanship

  • Reliable, punctual and deadline‑focused

  • Comfortable working hands‑on while coordinating others

  • Ability to work under pressure and stay calm during busy periods

  • Trade qualification preferred but not essential

  • Forklift licence highly desirable

  • Own transport & current driver's licence
