As a Licensing Audit Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring the effective administration, enforcement, and continuous improvement of licensing functions under the Ground Operations Licence (GOL) and Airside Operations Licence (AOL).
- Managing the Airside Licensing Audit Programme, using a risk-based approach to ensure compliance with Heathrow standards, CAA regulations, and CAP642 guidelines.
- Conducting audits and process confirmations to verify that licensees meet the terms and conditions of their GOL/AOLs.
- Producing high‑quality reports and documentation that support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Presenting audit findings and safety performance data to senior stakeholders, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting assurance activities and contributing to strategic projects alongside the Lead Licensing Manager.
- Championing a positive safety culture, promoting a ‘just’ culture across Airside Operations and the wider Heathrow community.
- Experience of conducting audits and making key decisions within this process.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to compose high quality formal documentation.
- The ability to develop positive and productive relationships for effective stakeholder management.
- Excellent IT literacy with the ability to develop reports or other information formats which ‘tells a story’ or demonstrates a need for change.
- Ability to follow a defined process but also able to think laterally (‘around the problem’) when required.
- A valid UK driving license and occupational health medical check to obtain an Airside Driving Permit.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Knowledge of following and continuously improving the Airside Licensing Programme using a risk‑based approach.
- The ability to report on data trends and present to stakeholders.
- Experience of working in an Airfield/Airside environment.
