Job description

A valuable opportunity has arisen within a well-established water management company offering a range of legionella, water hygiene and water treatment duties to clients throughout the UK. They are currently looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated Legionella Risk Assessor based in or around the Oxford area. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their skills and experience in undertaking legionella risk assessments in line with ACOP L8 guidelines on a varied site base. Consideration will be given to candidates from Reading, Newbury, Bracknell, and the surrounding areas.

Experience & Qualifications

• Attended City and Guilds Legionella Risk Assessment course or equivalent WMS qualification.
• Proven track record as a legionella risk assessor in the water hygiene/water treatment industry.
• Hands‑on experience delivering water hygiene duties at a varied site base.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages.

Duties within the Role

• Carry out Legionella risk assessments in line with ACOP L8 guidelines across a varied site base.
• Compile and create schematic drawings and produce final reports for clients.
• Provide recommendations and pricing for remedial works, routine control measures, and prepare quotations based on risk assessments.
• Write up reports and attend meetings to discuss findings.
• Get involved with the company’s Legionella management systems.
• Build and maintain a good working rapport with clients/customers and staff.
• Deal with problems as required effectively.
• Prioritise workload and ensure work is completed within timescales.
• Travel to sites as per client requirements.
