Overview

East Midlands Police Legal Services (EMPLS) is an established collaboration providing legal representation and in-house service to five Police Forces covering the East Midlands region. The role provides opportunities to support our work in providing legal services to a client base of over 10,000 officers and police staff, as well as helping to protect the public and maintaining high standards of the Police Service.

We offer a generous starting salary of £23,748 as well as key work/life benefits such as a competitive pension, generous annual leave, and flexi-time. For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy. The role will provide you with the chance to make a real difference to the lives of the people of the East Midlands, supporting a dynamic legal team to help protect and serve the public in vital and dynamic areas of the law.

Responsibilities
  • As a Legal Secretary, based in our office at Alfreton, your responsibilities will include dealing with the public and members of police forces on the phone.
  • Creation and maintenance of legal cases on our state-of-the-art case management system.
  • Processing financial transactions, correspondence and other administrative duties.
